Toilets for Wat Sang Khleang (Cambodia)

Fundraising

Wat Sang Khleang, a monastery in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, is building a new toilet block for its monks and the lay people who visit.

Work began with a traditional ground-breaking ceremony on 28 August. The building will measure 3 by 7 metres and house three toilets (two for women, one for men), a washbasin and two urinals.

The total cost of construction is about USD 12,000 (48 million riel, 1 million rubles).

For the monastery this is a real, everyday need. Every day the monastery welcomes not only monks but also many lay people who come to make offerings, join ceremonies, listen to the Dhamma and meditate. Proper sanitary facilities will serve everyone who visits the monastery for many years to come.
